Whenever God means to make a man great,
He always breaks him to pieces first.
We wanted to encourage Ronald and give him a little "house warming" gift. So we took him to lunch and then visited his place in town and gave him a little "starter kit" with things like cooking oil, rice, sugar, soap, etc…. just a little to help him out for his beginning We also had a couple of used skillets and a 2-burner gas cooktop to give him, but we told him he would have to buy his own gas if he wanted to use the cooker. He was very excited about it and very willing to invest in the purchasing the gas himself since we were giving him the cooker!
Geof and I are so proud of him. Geof was once in a Discipleship Program and he remembers the time that he had to leave the home and start off on his own. I also remember renting my first place and paying all of those bills on my own! We shared with him how proud we are for his hard work and progress. We finished the time praying over his home, his work, and his future.
"I am involved in serving at One Life Church here in Kampala. I can play guitar, bass, acoustic – which I learned through help at the D House. I am also volunteering at Doors – another ministry for street boys. At Doors, I teach a Bible study with older boys every Tuesday. We talk about how to go through the Bible and really study it. On Saturdays we also have Bible study and some worship. I am mentoring some of the young guys in leading worship and playing guitar as well."
The Lord continues to open up opportunities for Ronald to chase his God-given passions and give glory to the Lord. He loves Jesus with his entire heart and the joy of the Lord just pours out of him. He has wisely grounded himself in a strong Christian community group. We are so proud that he is investing in the Kingdom, surrounding himself with Godly friends and fellowship, working hard, and that he is determined to honor God with his life!
(the Rwenzori boxes are filled up with the items we purchased for him!)
There are many Frontline supporters in Ireland, England, and different states across America. They don't necessarily want to know about Geof and mine's personal lives, but we want to keep them updated on Frontline news! Check out the latest blog post on the Frontline website here!
