I have been learning Luganda and this is one I need to share with you...
One of the truths I have taught the boys here in Uganda is that God is Big and He is Powerful. We studied that it is a promise from God… not about us, but a truth about our Heavenly Father that cannot be changed. I am praying now for the Lord to increase my faith and for me make this truth real in my life.
I only posted about 1 week ago, but our ministry is truly needing to have our faith increased. I truly believe that the evil one is trying to attack our ministry and we need to be covered in prayer.
Our directors have just left for the States to share about our ministry and give updates to our supporters… They left this past Wednesday… and here is how the evil one is attacking...
#1 - Ugandan staff member has death in the family
#2 - Ugandan staff member's father is in the hospital
#3 - Canadian full-time staff member is very illthe doctors are uncertain what could be wrong. She has lost 15 lbs within the last month, but the dr.'s just aren't sure what is going on yet...
#4 - A Ugandan staff member has been sick for some time, it became more serious when he began vomiting blood. He is now on medicine, but still not 100%.
#5 - A short-term volunteer and another full-time staff member woke up vomiting all last night
#6 - A short-term American volunteer is having major issues with her throat and is at the Surgery medical centre now… probably going to have to have surgery for her tonsils to be removed.
#7 - One of our uncles is transitioning to working with a different ministry - which leaves only 2 strong uncles to help with the street program every M-F… the one of those uncles was previously mentioned in #4… so we are pretty much down to one uncle for all of this time.. (hiring a new uncle can't occur while directors are out of country)…
#8 - Myself and another volunteer are trying to get our work permits turned in to the government and approved before our current visas expire, but the government NGO board still hasn't approved our status and so we cannot turn in our applications. They have claimed to be meeting "this Friday" for the past month… we have yet to be approved over small issues they find in our application… So, work permits (time sensitive documents and status) are all on hold.
There are several other small things that are happening in our ministry that just feel so discouraging… I say these things not to rant or complain or ask for pity. But I want you all to see the seriousness of what is happening when I say that I feel we are being attacked.
Please pray over our home here in Kampala, our staff, and our ministry as a whole.
