- For the boys we serve to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
- To decrease the number of boys living on the streets.
- To develop strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations focused on ensuring children's rights.
Additionally, he is very tightly connected with an organization we are partnering with, Retrak. They have programs in many countries and specialize in resettling street children! These are the types of teammates and connections we have been praying for!
Geof and I rejoiced! Our first boy to finally be taken off of the streets and into very helpful, capable, caring hands! Praise the Lord!
JaJa V said he wished to speak with Geof and I privately. He informed us that during the first few days with Shafik, Retrak came to find out that Shafik wasn’t a boy, Shafik was a young girl.
A young, 8-9 year old girl had run away from home and was trying be a street boy. She fit right in among the boys at our programs, wearing shorts and a t-shirt, she used the boys’ toilets, etc. She rarely spoke, which hid her very tender, high-pitched voice. JaJa V told us that they had taken her into Retrak’s transition home for girls and she would remain there for counseling, community, and safety until she was able and ready to be resettled.
Pray for her to build relationships with the other girls in the transition home. Pray that she will deeply feel the Love of the Father.
Pray that a safe home, whether with her father or an alternative, will be found.
And pray for other girls living on the streets. That they will be protected until they are found and rescued.
